As the days drag on until we can welcome customers back into our boutique, it's getting harder to keep my sense of humor. As I write this, it has been 67 days since we were told to "stay home" and no one has yet been able to explain to me how it is safe to roam the aisles of Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's and other big box stores but not shop small business. I think in "Phase 2" we should close the big box stores and give the little guys a chance.
Just so I don't get branded a "Nattering nabob of negativism", as it was so eloquently put by V.P. Spiro Agnew 50 years ago, this will be my only negative comment on the subject. OK, so I may throw in a cynical grenade here and there for purposes of a cheap yuk, but I'm not going to go negative. Rant over (where's an emoji when I need one?).
I want to thank all of you who have been visiting our website and either placing orders from the website or calling us to order items you've seen in these newsletters or in our Facebook posts. By the way, have you noticed that Shorty is back in the fresh air at her post in front of the boutique struttin her stuff? Since we are now "Officially" allowed to offer curbside pickup, we don't have to keep Shorty in captivity inside.
If you haven't checked out our website https://www.anniesuniqueboutique.com/ yet, please give it a shot. Keep in mind that it is a work-in-progress, it's tough to teach an old dinosaur new tricks so I continue to make changes to the website in an effort to make it as user-friendly as possible. Please call or email me if you have any problems with the website and, if there is something that you think we should change, let me know and we'll do our best to change it.
We offer shipping via USPS, curbside pickup and, if you spend $50 or more and live within 10 miles of us, I'll deliver the goods myself.
That's a wrap for this week. In the meantime, stay safe, think big and shop small. And, don't forget to support your local restaurants and order take-out a couple times a week.
